Student Senate

The Student Senate of MMU “Avicenna” is a representative body that protects the interests of MMU “Avicenna” students and ensures their participation in the university’s governance. It acts as a mediator between students and the administration of MMU “Avicenna” and participates in decision-making regarding the educational process, social life, cultural, and sports events.

Main tasks of the student senate:

1. Protection of students’ rights: The Senate works to improve the study and living conditions of students, addresses issues related to academic workload, teaching quality, dormitory living conditions, etc.
2. Representation of students’ interests: The Senate acts as a communication channel between students and the administration, voicing students’ opinions on important issues.
3. Event organization: As part of the Senate’s work, cultural, educational, and sports events for students are often held.
4. Monitoring of educational quality: The Senate participates in discussions regarding curricula, courses, and faculty.

Structure:

• Chair — elected to coordinate the Senate’s work and represent its interests.
• Senate members — students elected from different faculties, who are responsible for various aspects of student life.
• Committees — within the Senate, different groups may be formed to deal with specific issues, such as culture, sports, or education committees.

How to become a part of the student senate?

To become a member of the student senate, one must undergo elections, which can be either local or at the level of the entire institution. Self-nomination or nomination from study groups is possible.
