Science Department of MMU ‘Avicenna’

The Science Department has been operating since September 2023. 

Main tasks of the scientific department’s activities:

  • organization, planning, control, and coordination of research activities conducted by the faculties and other structural units of the University; 
  • preparation of international, national, inter-university, inter-departmental scientific and scientific-practical conferences, forums, seminars, and round tables, with the involvement of faculty members, postgraduate students, applicants, listeners, and students, in collaboration with the departments.

The Science Department provides organizational support for the process of training scientific and pedagogical staff of the highest qualification in the form of basic doctoral studies/PhD in the field of ‘Public Health and Medicine’, candidacy, and training in clinical residency. 

Admission to basic doctoral studies / PhD is conducted annually from June 20 to October 10 (duration of study is 3 years).

Documents for admission to basic doctoral studies / PhD:

  • application addressed to the Rector of MMU ‘Avicenna’;
  • notarized copy of the master’s diploma or clinical residency diploma;
  • certificate from the authorized state body in the field of education and science of the Kyrgyz Republic confirming the level and content of education documents issued by foreign educational institutions.
  • Passport or military ID (for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic) must be presented in person when submitting the application.
  • Copy of the work record book, certified by the HR department;
  • Personal record sheet confirming employment (for individuals with work experience);
  • Four colored photographs sized 3.5×4.5 cm;
  • Medical certificate in form 086-U.

Training in clinical residency is carried out in 18 specialties:

  • Therapy (duration of study is 3 years);
  • Urology (duration of study is 3 years);
  • Anesthesiology and Reanimatology (duration of study is 3 years);
  • Ophthalmology (duration of study is 3 years);
