DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL AND HUMANITARIAN DISCIPLINES

HISTORY AND GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Natural and Humanitarian Disciplines was established by the decision of the Academic Council in September 2019. The department includes a qualified faculty with academic degrees and titles, actively engaged in both pedagogical activities and scientific work.

The department operates in the following areas:

  • educational activities;
  • educational-methodological work;
  • scientific research activities;
  • educational and organizational work.

EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT

The educational activities of the department involve providing basic knowledge for students for their further development as medical professionals. The faculty constantly reviews and improves methodological materials, tests, assignments for practical classes, and lectures for students. The educational process is based on a point-rating system for assessing students’ knowledge. For this purpose, questions, tickets, and tests of varying complexity have been developed. Teachers conduct classes for first, second, and third-year students, including courses in cycles such as:

  • Humanitarian, social, and economic cycle;
  • Mathematical and natural sciences cycle;
  • Professional cycle.

EDUCATIONAL-METHODOLOGICAL WORK OF THE DEPARTMENT

The faculty of the department performs educational-methodological work, including the development of manuals, monographs, working programs, and syllabuses. All technical and informational capabilities are available to conduct module-rating controls of students’ knowledge. Modules are administered in a test format compiled in the AVN37 program. Programs for independent work of students are developed to activate self-study and promote the skill of working with scientific literature.
