REGULATION on the Academic and Methodological Department (AMD) of the International Medical University “Avicenna”
GENERAL PROVISIONS
1.1. The Academic and Methodological Department (AMD) is a structural unit of the International Medical University “Avicenna” (hereinafter IMU “Avicenna”), coordinating the educational process and methodological work, directly subordinated to the rector and vice-rectors.
1.2. The AMD is headed by a chief.
The composition and structure of the department are formed according to the staffing schedule, based on the needs of the educational process and the modernization of the higher professional education system.
1.3. In the absence of the chief of AMD, his duties are carried out by the chief specialist of AMD.
1.4. AMD staff are appointed and dismissed by the rector of IMU “Avicenna”, upon the presentation of the AMD chief in the prescribed manner.
1.5. The main directions of AMD are;
- Planning and implementation of the methodological support of educational programs;
- Organization of the educational process;
- Distribution and scheduling of classes for academic groups of faculties;
- Technical support of the training.
1.6. In its activities, AMD is guided by the legislative acts of the Kyrgyz Republic, normative documents of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Science, National programs for the reform of the healthcare and education system, internal documents of IMU “Avicenna”, orders and directives of the rector, decisions of the Academic Council of IMU “Avicenna”, the Code of Ethics of IMU “Avicenna”, as well as this Regulation.
1.7. AMD conducts its work based on the study of the principles of higher professional education and aims to improve the quality of implementation of the main professional educational programs at various levels.
2. OBJECTIVES OF THE ACADEMIC AND METHODOLOGICAL DEPARTMENT
2.1. Organization and management of the educational and methodological activities of IMU “Avicenna” for the implementation of basic and additional educational programs in accordance with the state license for the right to conduct educational activities in the field of professional education.
2.2. Monitoring compliance with licensing and accreditation requirements for the implementation of educational programs.
2.3. Participation in the development of a strategy for the development of higher medical and pharmaceutical education in the republic.
2.4. Planning and implementation of the educational process at IMU “Avicenna”, development of curricula.
2.5. Providing leadership in the scientific-methodological and organizational work of faculties and departments on the implementation of professional educational programs by directions and specialties.
2.6. Coordination of the activities of IMU “Avicenna” units to improve the efficiency of the educational process, dissemination of advanced pedagogical experience, implementation of new state standards in accordance with international requirements.
- INTERACTION WITH OTHER STRUCTURAL UNITS AND RIGHTS OF THE ACADEMIC AND METHODOLOGICAL DEPARTMENT.
3.1. In its activities, AMD interacts with the academic coordination council (ACC), with the chairpersons of the Academic Method Board for all specialties, with the deans of faculties, departments, inspection department, personnel department, as well as with other units of IMU “Avicenna”.
3.2. AMD performs its functions in close cooperation with the quality management department of education.
3.3. The Academic and Methodological Department has the right to:
- receive the necessary information for the exercise of its functions from all units and services, regardless of their subordination;
- exercise control over the work of all educational units of IMU “Avicenna”;
- visit, in agreement with the heads of units, classes of all forms of education, meetings of academic and methodological councils of faculties, departments considering issues of educational and methodological activities.
- RESPONSIBILITY
The responsibility of AMD employees is established in accordance with the current legislation for the untimely and poor-quality fulfillment of their assigned functions.
